The Choice Fair has been rescheduled for Monday, January 29, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Educational Resource Center (ERC) located at 396 Elementary Drive, Fayetteville, NC.  The 16 middle and high schools offering choice programs will have displays to give you an understanding of what the expectations are for students who choose to apply to the school or academy.  Principals, directors, and coordinators will be present to answer questions.  After all your questions are answered apply online at the Choice Online Station.

On the same day, the Fort Bragg/E. E. Smith Parent meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m in Room #3 at the Educational Resource Center (ERC)

The implementation of the Choice Program is a direct result of our responsiveness to our customers who clearly want a school system that offers a choice in where their children attend school.

Realizing that not all children share the same interests and career goals or learn in the same fashion, our schools developed programs to meet the diverse needs of our students.  Our Choice Programs range from the elementary to high school level and include locally developed models as well as national and international models.  All Cumberland County Schools teach the new standard North Carolina curriculum.  Depending on the Choice Program, “HOW” the curriculum is taught makes all the difference. For example, if a child has special interests in the arts, the parent/guardian can apply to a school where the curriculum integrates the arts throughout all subjects.  If a student wants to prepare himself/herself for a certain career field after graduation, he or she may prepare themselves by attending one of the many high school academies.

If you would like to learn more about the various programs please click on the appropriate buttons to the right of this page linking you to the different grade levels. From there you will be able to link to the individual Choice Programs and schools. Please feel free to discuss Cumberland County Schools’ (CCS)  Choice Program options with your child’s principal.

For additional information about a specific CCS’  Choice Program, call the school listed under the appropriate
